Hey World of Waterfowl, my name is Nolan Goshey and I am the man behind the mission here at WOW. I am new to this whole blog thing so you're going to have to bear with me as you're reading this as I am not a phenomenal writer by any means but I am good at talking so there is that. This first blog is going to be kind of an intro so to speak, talking about how World of Waterfowl started and our mission behind it as we go and grow in the future. So let's get started!
World of Waterfowl actually started back in 2014 as solely just a facebook page. My buddy and I were having a conversation in the duck blind one morning, if you can believe that, and we were talking about how cool it would be where people from all walks of life could just come together and talk all things waterfowl hunting and not have to be associated with a certain brand or anything. We noticed that the outdoor space can be judgmental at times. We would visit other outdoor pages and see other fellow sportsman criticizing others for what they are doing. I am sure we've all heard things like "If you don't shoot Mathew's then you're not a bowhunter" or "Rifle hunting is pretty much cheating" or "If you don't wear sitka gear that you're not a real outdoorsman". We were sick of seeing stuff like that and wanted to create a place where hunters could come together and shoot the shit about success stories or recipes or tactics and not have people bashing you. I know there will always be "those" kind of people but we wanted a place where everyone was welcome. This is where World of Waterfowl was born.

For two years we had a blast with this, hearing from people all over the country sending us their pictures so we could feature them on the page and getting to know some great people and have great conversations. Well, life got busy and we kind of let the page go dormant and it just sat there with minimal activity for the last 6 years or so. About a year ago I decided enough was enough and I wanted to do something bigger with it and I could see there was potential for a lot of opportunity. With World of Waterfowl I want to create a positive impact by bringing people together and creating a community of like minded people where we not only find success in our hunting endeavors but in every other area of our lives as well.
You might be wondering what I mean when I say find success in other areas of our lives or what that has to do with waterfowl hunting, so let me dive into that. A little over 3 years ago I went through a tougher time in my life, I won't bore you with details of that, and I turned to personal development as a coping mechanism I guess you could say. Now at this point in my life I had already been big into fitness and have seen the benefits from it but at this time I really dove into really improving other areas of my life and I haven't looked back since. One of the main contributing factors for putting that chapter of life behind me was the community of people I had around me. I have since realized that not everyone has a positive community of people around them that I am blessed to have so I want World of Waterfowl to be that community for you guys and gals. I want this community to be a place where we are all looking to find our true potential in life and to chase after what it is we are passionate about like waterfowl hunting.
With World of Waterfowl I want you to feel like you are part of the brand because my brand is your brand. In later blogs I will show you guys how you can be a bigger part of the community as we continue to grow and get better. This will be a community of people who are not only passionate about the outdoors and waterfowl hunting but also about seeking our true potential so we can lead by example and be the change we wish to see in the world. Leading by a positive example is very important to me because our next generation of waterfowlers is watching us and we need to show them what can be done. I am not sure how long a typical blog post is but if you made it this far just know that I truly appreciate you and I am excited to see you get what it is in life you are chasing.
Until next time, keep working 💯
Thanks, Nolan
